Time for 2's

This class meets once a week on Fridays from 9:45a.m. to 10:45a.m. This is a great way to introduce your two year old to the routine of preschool .  The class is structured like a “mini-preschool” day including:  free play, circle time, story time, crafts, snack, and music while the safety of a parent/caregiver is close at hand.

This class meets twice a week – Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 9:30a.m. to 12:00p.m.  This is for children that are separating from a parent/caregiver for the first time. Our goal is to show them the joy of learning and owning their independence.

This class meets three times per week – Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30a.m. to 12:00p.m.  Our four year old program prepares a child for all of the skills required for entering Kindergarten in the fall.

The class meets four days a week Monday through Thursday from 9:30a.m. to 12:00p.m. This class is designed for the child who has finished a 4 year old program and is either too young or just not ready for Kindergarten.  In this class children will progress to reading, journaling, and math.

Class Size

  • 3 year-olds have 13 children per class 
  • 4 year-olds have 16 children per class 
  • Each classroom has a Pennsylvania certified teacher and an experienced assistant 

Typcial Daily Schedule

9:30 - 10

FREE PLAY

This is the time where your child can choose an activity they like best. They learn to share, wait their turn, transition, and play  with others. 

10 - 10:30

CIRCLE TIME

The class will be led by the “star student” in a discussion of the calendar, the weather, and the daily theme.  A story and discussion of today’s theme will follow.

10:30 - 10:50

SNACK TIME / BATHROOM BREAK

Following the blessing, a snack is enjoyed by the preschoolers.

The class is divided into small groups.  Each group rotates from the academic center with the teacher, a craft center with the assistant, and an independent center.

Wrap Up

This is the time for the teacher to inform you of the happenings of the day, and to help you follow through at home. 

After hours

Lunch Bunch

  • Lunch bunch is a preschool program held every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. for all students attending school that day.
  • Lunch bunch fosters table manners, social skills, and offers the children an opportunity to interact with preschoolers of other classes.
  • Our staff picks up students after their classes, we have lunch, play games, and parents pick up their children at 1:00 p.m.
  • The children bring a bag lunch with them.
  • The cost is $6.00 per child per day.

Extended Day Activities

Extended day activities run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00pm to 2:00 pm

  • Arts and Crafts Let your creative light shine!  Come join us for theme based activities which will include using many different mediums in order to express yourself!  
  • Fun-Fitness and Sports Get ready to learn the fundamentals of recreational sports and fitness!  Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and sneakers!  
  • Cooking Using our five senses we will explore different tastes, sights, sounds, smells, and textures in the kitchen.  Your child will learn basic cooking skills and use sequential steps in order to create a cooking masterpiece!  
  • Game Day-Stay and Play Let's get back to the basics of play!  Kids will get to work together and have the social experience of making new friends all while playing games!  Indoor games, outdoor games, card games, board games and time will also be set aside to play at specific created centers.  You name it and we'll be playing it!  
  • Science Come discover the world around you!  We will introduce the scientific method through questioning, predicting, experimenting, and making a conclusion.  An early introduction to science introduces ne vocabulary and thought processes that will aide and reinforce future learning!  
  • Music Movement and Me Music evokes movement and children delight in and require movement for their development and growth!  Developmentally appropriate activities involving the whole child's desire for language and the bodies urge to move will be the focus of this session!
  • Service Activity  We will be immersed in projects to support the local community. Projects will include supporting: food cupboard, our shut-ins, birthday boxes for children, and much more! We will be teaching our children about the value of service to others.

Summer Camp

Come join the fun at UOPC Preschool Summer camp! 

Summer camp dates are coming soon!

Time:  9a.m. to 1p.m.  

Cost is:  $165   

Sign up:  On the camp sign up sheet located in the dining room area starting in April or by calling the Preschool office.
